Nairobi National Polytechnic (Nairobi NP) former Nairobi TTI is a TVET college in Nairobi city. It is located along Mogira Road, Off Park Road, and Ring Road Ngara, between Kariokor and Pangani Police Station.

The polytechnic’s location within Nairobi offers an opportunity for those who want to study while they work to have evening and part-time classes. Nairobi Poly is proud to have over 8,000 students pursuing different courses.

It offers diploma, craft certificate, and artisan levels courses.

Where is Nairobi Poly located?

Nairobi NP is located along Mogira Road, Off Park Road, and Ring Road Ngara, between Kariokor and Pangani Police Station. From Nairobi CDB you can board matatu No. 6, 14, 17, 32, 42, 46, 100, or 120.

When are the intakes?

Nairobi National Polytechnic has 3 intakes within the year to align with the KNEC exam and Ministry of Education requirements. The intakes are in January, May, and September of every year. However, inquiries can be made at any time within working hours using the contact details or by visiting the institute.

Fees and sponsorship 

Students are required to pay tuition fees which must be paid upon reporting to the institute. Other payable fees are student ID and student council. Examination fees are paid separately from tuition and the amount depends on the course and current student module of study.

The government through the Ministry of Education gives capitation to subsidize tuition fees for students for all public TVET institutions. Students can also apply for HELB loans, constituency bursaries, and other sources to facilitate fee payment.

The courses entry requirement for Nairobi Poly

The course entry requirement to join Nairobi National is determined by the Ministry of Education but the institute can include subject clusters to filter applicants when the need arises.

For general engineering and business diploma courses students require a minimum of C- and above in KCSE. To qualify Craft certificate a grade of D plain and D+ in KCSE is required. To undertake the Artisan course you are required to have a KCPE or KCSE mean grade of D- and E.

During admission, you will be required to submit documents such as KCPE and KCSE results, birth certificate, medical letter, filled application form, and passport among other documents for verification.

Hostel and accommodation in Nairobi Poly

Nairobi NP doesn’t offer any hostel service within the institute. However, there are plenty of hostels within walking distance for students. The hostel can be within Ngara or Pangani area depending on the student’s preference.
